GROUP THERAPY
Curated by Pablo Gómez. Camilo Leyva, John Small.
OCTOBER 4 – OCTOBER 16, 2010
Opening Reception: Monday October 4, 6-9pm
GROUP/THERAPY /gru:p//'θerəpi/: The concept of group therapy leads us to associate the processes that take place in a psychiatric organization with pedagogical methodologies used in some educational institutions.
In both cases the person exhibits him/herself within the group context. The group process is explicitly utilized as a mechanism of change by developing, exploring and examining interpersonal relationships within the group.
This exhibition highlights a dichotomy in the situation where the artist is dealing with the construction of his/her own process and the fact that the group may configure his/her personal voice.
To what extent does this exchange shape or even become the work?
25 EAST GALLERY is pleased to present the works of Paulina Garcia, Alice Gibney, Pablo Gomez Uribe, Julia Kul, Camilo Leyva, Michael Ratulowski, John Small.

Brown's the Best!
1980 (then?)Wind, coniferous creeking, nocturnal wind cool, machinic thunder.
Noise, city building, street hell, transmission.
The forest, forced approach, smoking instruments, nightfall.
art and people, the infinite, the fall, the bleeding.
time, perception sickness, convincing simulation, space.
watching and waiting, everythings about to happen, now, fastslowness.
red wine, mountain crag, cloud, grinning.
beer, translation, moonlight, talking.
six stringed, mythic ghost, books and books, smokestack.
